Terra Nova (2007) Total running time 59:08

Terra Nova album art

Terra Nova is Al's most accomplished work to date and is a rich tapestry of atmospheres and soundscapes intended to capture the imagination. A melodically infectious, sonically dramatic and deeply textured sound palette compliments the diverse compositional arrangements.

With a vituoso performance on the Spanish guitar—along with a whole host of other instruments and ambiences ranging from the western sounds of the piano and synthesizer to the more exotic eastern sounds of the duduk, zourna and santoor—Terra Nova is a voyage of discovery into uncharted territory and beyond.

Equilibrium cover

This was Al's first album, recorded in the early days when tape still ruled as king. Whilst it has its rough edges these do not detract in any way from the 'joy of guitar' celebrated in the recordings, most of which were recorded in a single take (because they had to be!).
